Jewelry Materials

Isa Golden Jewels are crafted from gold-plated steel. Our jewelry is coated with gold using safe method, which incorporates titanium (not nickel). The gold plating is applied through a technique called PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition). The gold layer thickness ranges from 0.03 to 0.05 microns • Triple-layered 18K gold plating • Stainless titanium steel • Cubic zirconia crystals

Q&A

Stainless Steel vs. Titanium Steel These terms refer to the same material. You can describe your jewelry as being made of either Stainless Steel or Titanium Steel, both are accurate. The term “Titanium” steel refers to the use of titanium during the gold-plating process, which helps the gold adhere to the stainless steel, making the gold coating possible. How Long Does Gold-Plated Jewelry Last? Our jewelry has been tested in a lab for two weeks in salted water. In real-life conditions, members of our team have been wearing the pieces for over a year, swimming and sunbathing regularly. Under normal use, the gold plating remains intact without discolouration or tarnishing for up to 24 months or even longer. Why is Gold-Plating used? Vacuum Ion Gold Plating offers exceptional durability and color retention. After extensive testing, the coating has proven to maintain its color and shine even in harsh conditions. The gold-plating process enhances the jewelry’s eco-friendliness and longevity. Gold-Plating Method: IP / PVD Vacuum ion plating (IP) or Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) is a technique used to apply thin layers of gold to a product’s surface under vacuum conditions using physical methods. The gold-plating thickness ranges from 0.03 to 0.05 microns. The thickness of the gold layer varies between 0.03 microns and 0.05 microns (approximately 0.00005 mm). Why is Titanium used? Gold cannot directly bond with stainless steel, so an intermediate layer is necessary. Titanium is capable of adhering to stainless steel, and gold can then bond to titanium, allowing the gold coating on stainless steel. SAFE Gold-Plating Method Gold plating is done at extremely high temperatures in a vacuum chamber. Our jewels are made with SAFE high-temperature gold-plating method, which incorporates titanium (and excludes nickel). Although this method is more costly, it is safer and results in more durable jewelry. How Much Gold is in our jewels? PVD technology uses a very small amount of gold for each piece (11.5 grams for hundreds of items, the amount used in a single vacuum chamber load). This is why the jewelry isn’t considered “precious.” The amount of 18K gold on the surface is too thin to be detected without special equipment. Is 0.03 Microns of Gold Enough for High Quality? Yes! The coating has excellent adhesion and, under normal use, maintains its properties for up to 24 months without discolouration or tarnishing.
